WASHINGTON (AP) - Here's what a Pentagon

infamous for buying overpriced toilets and

hammers produced when it handed out credit

cards to its employees: 10 million purchases,

$9 billion in debt and plenty of examples of

fraud.

The fraud ranged from a soldier who spent

$3,100 at a nightclub to an Army reservist's

wife who went on a $13,000 shopping spree in

Puerto Rico, according to documents obtained

Thursday by The Associated Press. Congress

intends to make the materials public next

week.

In the past two years alone, there have been

more than 500 purchase fraud cases filed

involving military credit cards, according to

information gathered by Sen. Charles

Grassley's office. One bank company has been

forced to write off $59 million in fraudulent

debts from military cards.

"In the past, Pentagon employees needed a

phony invoice to trigger a fraudulent

government check, but that obstacle is gone,"

Grassley, R-Iowa, said. "Credit cards provide

a shortcut to the cash pile. The Pentagon is

giving everyone a big scoop shovel and

telling them to rip into the national money

sack at both ends."

Reviews by Grassley; Rep. Steve Horn,

R-Calif., chairman of the House Government

Reform subcommittee on government efficiency;

and the General Accounting Office found the

Pentagon has inadequate controls on the cards

it issues for official purchases or travel

and also is slow to respond even in the face

of fraud

I was blessed to be in Israyl this February..and I can tell you regardless what you hear on TV or read in the print media...the people (Philistine & Israyli ) are preparing for a bloody war to literally wipe out the other side ! 
Neither side is righteous...and neither side will give an inch...though decidedly the Israyli's are capable killers and adept assassins !

The fun part is when Syria, Iraq, Iran and maybe other Arab nations join in the fray, begin to overrun Israyl (Lavi, is this a new/old spelling or are you adding some satire?) and the Israyl army breaks out the nukes. Look for the glowing sky in the east.

I read an analysis (could be wrong) that says that the only thing Iraq and Syria are waiting for is for the weather to turn. It says that it is counterproductive to attempt to use tanks in that desert in the summertime. 
 
So, the fact that they havent moved yet might not mean that they dont intend to do so.

These two factions (as with the Serbs/Croats/Ethnic Albanians) will not stop fighting until one of the them wipes out all of the other. There won't be any "U.S. brokered" "peace" deal. These people who have warred for thousands of years are not going to stop hating each other just because some 225 year-old country sends Jimmy Carter or some other dolt to make them shake hands for the cameras. 
 
I say we build our missile defense to help ward off any spill-over. Then just stand by. Get out of the way and let someone win this millennia old fight. It's callous I know. 
 
All we can do is maintain our military strength to deter any attacks against us. The second one of the parties tries to conquer new territory (a la the Germans in WWII), then we can pour in the troops to stop that. Until that time comes, just keep'em contained in that little postage stamp of land on the eastern Mediterranean.

Thats very interesting, I thought most of us except for Laurie and maybe Carold were using some form of English. Didn't know I could read and write Hebrew. :)

Canaanites are not "canadians" now listen closely - Canadians are the people that say "eh" a lot eh? and we are the ones who won't let you shoot your way thru Canada on your way to the redneck convention way down south - Canaanites on the other hand - well I doubt that they had "center fire" weapons - another thing, we almost speak the same language - Canaanites probably don't speak much of the queens english...

NEW YORK (Sept. 11) - Two planes crashed into the 
upper floors of both World Trade Center towers minutes 
apart Tuesday in what the President Bush said was an 
apparent terrorist attack, blasting fiery, gaping

Within the hour, an aircraft crashed on a helicopter 
landing pad near the Pentagon, and the West Wing of

Today the building I work in was ringed by 
concrete barricades, road graders and other 
heavy equipment. The road to the building, 
which is the headquarters building, has been 
blocked off as well. All vehicles entering 
on to the Post are being searched and checked 
underneath for possible explosives. I am 
somewhat happy as my office is just a couple 
floors above the Commanding Generals.
